Sacrament of Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. We become a member of Christ's Body when we are baptized. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God. During a Baptism, chrism (a sacred oil) is used. The word "Christian" means "anointed one." Jesus is the Christ because He is the anointed one of God. Parents and godparents are involved in the ceremony and are committed to care for the recipient's spiritual life.

Pre-Baptismal instruction for parents is required. Please contact the rectory at 532-5100.
